Literature Text

You woke up sometime later in the dark, assuming you were still back home in your bed, and if you looked over, you would see the bright luminescence from the alarm clock on your bedside table.
But you could sense it wasn't, the air of room, or whatever you were in, was different. You also noticed that the killer headache was gone, like it had never even begun in the first place. It was like it was just a dream, but it was all too real not to be, you felt…different.
You took in a shaky breath, raising your arms up to your chest, and running your fingertips along your cheek and up to your forehead, and smoothly over your temple. It didn't hurt when you touched it at all; it almost felt nice when your cool flesh ran over it.
It was a few seconds before you registered the fact that you were not alone, something else was in here, two things actually, one giving off the presence of healing and wisdom, the other a sort of mad rage and a desperate longing for something they hadn't had in a long time.
One of them was a man, and the other a woman.
Whoa, okay, you had never been able to sense that, what did that headache do to you? Was it some sort of weird magic thing that gave you superpowers or something? Or had something dug itself into your brain and wedged itself into your frontal lobe? Whatever it was, it was weird, and you had very mixed feelings about it, part fear, part curiosity, and part desire for that one part of something that I had never had before.
Soon, you could feel one of them coming toward you, the woman, you guessed. You could feel her standing next to you, one hand gingerly touching your cheek, a soothing warmth rushing to your face, "She's awake, Loki."
Loki? Loki! He was the man, of course, how had you been so stupid to miss that? You smiled slowly when he spoke, "Thank you, Eir, she is alright?"
You could feel her nod, "Yes, she feels absolutely normal." Then she spoke softer, obviously not wanting me to hear it, "Are you sure this girl is human?"
I grimaced at that, of course I was just human! How could she think I wasn't?
Loki grumbled, "That is what I'm trying to figure out myself, Eir."
She sighed, "I will leave you alone with the girl."
"Her name is y/n. Do not call her anything else."
"Yes, of course, Loki."
"Go."
Her presence quickly faded from the room, and you were left alone with Loki, still lying on the bed as you had when you had woken up.
"Loki?" You whispered your voice hollow from not speaking for so long.
He came closer to you, a ball of soft light radiating from his hand, sitting on the edge of the bed next to you, his face set in a slow smile, his eyes radiating pure happiness. His free hand came to touch your cheek, "It has been several days since you have fallen into your sleep, my dear."
You paled, oh, no. What about your parents? They had got to be looking for you by now, they had got to. You tried to sit up, but Loki gently pushed you back onto the bed. "No, y/n, I don't think you would want to do that."
You whimpered, "Loki, what about my parents? And what happened the few days I was asleep? And where am I!"
He sighed, "Asgard, you are in Asgard. After you fell into your slumber I panicked, and brought you here, and out of Odin's curiosity he let me keep you here, at least until you are healed. And I can assure you, your parents were… held up… out of town for a couple extra days."
"Wha- how?"
"I can assure no, no harm came to them, and no harm will reach them, that is, unless they bring it to themselves."
You felt a little bit better, but still shaky, what if they tried to call you? You weren't sure if Asgard had any cell phone networks, probably not, considering Loki hadn't even known what coffee was before you told him.
"Okay. Fine. Whatever. Could you tell me what all of that was about?"
"What?"
"That woman and why I could sense the two of you."
He looked genuinely surprised, "What else have you been able to do, since you've woken?"
You shrugged, "Just that, I guess. I could sense your feelings."
"Really? That's… interesting."
"What happened to me?"
He looked into your eyes, and blinked very slowly, opening them again after about ten seconds, "I don't know. What happened was scary, yes, and even Odin could not figure out what happened to you, and Eir could only wake you. She had promised me just before you awakened that she would at least try to figure out why that happened."
"Eir is the healer?" You guessed.
He nodded, "You could sense that as well, couldn't you?"
"She gave off something like that yeah."
"What did I give off?"
You took a second before answering; you didn't think that he'd ask that, it wasn't like he'd ever kept his feelings from you, although most of them you could probably guess he'd never told you.
"You gave off lots of anger, and… longing." You whispered, unconsciously snuggling back into the mound of pillows that was behind your head and some part of your back.
"Are you sure?"
"Of course, I can't lie to you, remember?" You laughed slowly, grimacing when it stung your throat just a little.
He smirked, looking off to the side. You jumped when someone knocked on what sounded like a door. Loki got up to open it silently, and you edged along the side of the bed to see who it was. But Loki's body mostly blocked your way, but the light that came in from the opening was almost blinding at first, but as you blinked rapidly your eyes adjusted rather quickly, letting you see the darkened silhouette of Loki, back in his normal armor, you noticed.
He was speaking softly, but you could pick up most of it, "She is awake."
"Father would like to see her when she is well enough. And that she might want to wear something a little less… noticeable."
You could hear Loki chuckling, "Very well then."
After a few more seconds Loki shut the door, carrying something in his hand, something that looked like a big white box. "What's wrong with my clothes?"
He smirked, "Well, people here on Asgard don't dress in such undecorated clothing, especially women. And trust me, you won't find it was horrible as you might think. You aren't going to be wearing a corset or a wire skirt."
"Oh, darn, I was really looking forward to that. Wire skirts are just the most comfortable thing!" You rolled your eyes, "I won't ever wear one of those things. And don't you ever think I will."
He chuckled, "Of course not. I didn't like it much either."
You smiled slowly, sitting up slowly while Loki eyed you cautiously, ready to spring after you if you started convulsing or whatever, you slid back and crossed your legs under you, folding your hands in your lap. "Can you turn the light on? I'm kinda getting tired of looking at you in the dark."
"Of course, just a minute, my dear," He slid off the edge of the bed that he had just sat down on, walking over to something and pulling open the drapes, quickly exposing light, which blinded you for a moment, until your eyes adjusted, and you looked out over something so beautiful you gasped at the sight of it.
The sun was setting just over the clouds, yes, clouds instead of mountains, and the light that was cast off of them was in a bunch of different colors of the rainbow, blending in with the whites and soft grays of the fluffy things. In front of them were various shapes of golden spires and domes covered the landscape before you, and even before that, a massive garden of roses of every color, ranging from the prettiest crimson red to a white so pure you thought it was made from ice crystals.
Loki smiled at you, watching you place your fingertips over your mouth, "Loki… It's so beautiful."
"It is. The view from my room is one of the most amazing in this palace." He said, walking to me and placing his hand on my cheek, pulling my face to his, "And it makes it such better now that you are here to share it with me."
You shivered your eyes half lidded, "So I guess this is you room?"
"Yes. And you've been taking my bed for the past three days."
You giggled, "Do you want it back?"
He pressed his lips quickly to yours, and pulling back just enough so he could speak, "Very much, yes. Although I would rather sleep on lava rocks than have you uncomfortable after you've just woken from unconsciousness."
XXX
"Loki, do I really have to put this on?" You groaned, looking over the dress again. You couldn't lie, it was really pretty, it was a dark f/c, and had intricate lace sleeves, and even though you didn't like it, a corset binding along your back, it wasn't technically a corset, but thought of it tightening around you made your stomach squeeze. You were also suspecting the skirt was long enough to reach the floor, and probably would fan out if you spun around really fast. The neckline was the last thing you noticed; it was square on both sides, the back deep enough to expose the outline of your shoulder blades.
"Yes, you do, unless you want to be stared at with your jeans, and quite possibly thrown out of the throne room." He said, leaning against one of the wooden poles that lead to a giant canopy above the bed, draped over with a deep emerald cloth.
You groaned once more, "Fine then. Turn around or something while I change."
He complied, although you didn't doubt that he would 'accidentally' look over his shoulder once or twice.
You stripped off your shirt and your pants, feeling the cool air rush around your exposed skin, goose bumps appearing over your arms. You hesitantly slid the dress over your head, the feel of silk sliding over you giving you tiny shivers. You kicked your original clothes into a pile by your feet, which was hard, considering your legs kept getting tangled in the skirt, you mentally groaned at the thought of having to wear another floor length dress again, and you also wondered exactly how you were going to walk in this, your legs apparently just loved to get trapped between the fabric. After a few failed attempts to tighten the ribbon on the back of your dress you sighed, turning to face Loki, and crossing your arms in an attempt to hide the slightly drooping fabric which only made it more obvious, "Hey, uh, Loki?"
He turned slowly, looking over you, the lightest shade of pink appearing on his cheeks when his eyes ran across your chest. You raised one eyebrow, "Can you tie that lace in the back, please?"
"Ye-yes, I'll do that for you." He quickly walked behind you, and you could feel his fingers gently pressing into your back, working the lace tighter so the fabric didn't droop at all around your boobs. His fingers worked quickly, almost like he was doing magic instead of actually tying it, and stepped back around you before you noticed it was done.
You placed your hands on your hips, giving him a defiant look, "I'm not gonna be happy if people stare at me while we're walking through the hallways."
"If they do, they might be staring for much different reasons."
You spoke sweetly, putting on the most innocent look you could muster, "Well if they do, they'll be hung by their toes over the Empire State Building."
I wrote like a fiend today, 'nuff said.

And now I have a whole list of the Norse gods, which will come in handy in future chapters. And I looked up a bunch of Norse words too.... Sooo, that's cool. Tomorrow is Friday, and as much as I'd like it to be Saturday, that would suck. My weekend would end sooner....

So I am actually not human then? I am seriously Confused. I really don't know what's happening with me. I do hope Odin knows what is wrong with me. Perhaps there is a solution. Onward to chapter 13~
